A Great Dentist

Technology

Here at Valleau, VanDeven, and Massie Dentistry for Children we have invested in the most up-to-date technology and equipment to make your child's visit with us safe, comfortable and efficient.

Scan-X phosphor plate imagining technology

  • Dental radiographs are arguably one of the most useful diagnostic tools for a dental clinician. Dental radiographs can help your dentist identify diseases and developmental problems before they become serious health issues. Early detection of an infection or injury also can limit or prevent further damage to other areas of the mouth.

Our office takes radiation exposure very seriously and we follow guidelines set forth by the Alliance for Radiation Safety in Pediatric Imaging and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. http://www.imagegently.org/

  • Phosphor plates are a type of dental imaging technology that are 30 times thinner than digital sensors but use the fastest (least radiation) film speed setting for exposures.
  • The small size of the phosphor plates help make dental imagining as comfortable for our child patients as possible.

To all of our patients and families:

On behalf of everyone at Valleau, VanDeven, and Massie Dentistry for Children, we thank you for being a part of our family and for your continued support and patience.

As of June 1st, our practice has resumed patient care with many extra COVID-19 precautions. The quality of your child's treatment will continue to be provided at the highest level. Please review our new protocols to know what to expect for your child's appointment.

For all patients coming in this Fall and Winter, you will be receiving a letter that explains the many changes made at our office to keep everyone safe and healthy, specifically during the COVID pandemic. Visit our safety info page here for more info.  These will change periodically as we stay up to date on the guidelines outlined by our professional and scientific authorities.

Thank you for being on this journey with us and trusting us to care for your children.

See you soon, friends!
